Welcome to our universe
We are a Danish GOTS-certified design brand located in Tilst near Aarhus, and from here we branch out throughout Scandinavia and the rest of the world. We design and develop baby and children's interior products in a timeless design with a strong focus on sustainability, quality and multifunctionality. We develop our products based on our own experiences from everyday life with children. All our products are made with love and utmost respect for the environment and the people we work with.
Because we care - for the planet, for the people, for the product.
We are GOTS-certified
At Filibabba we are very committed to integrating social and environmental considerations into our business activities. We are therefore proud to be one of the few Danish brands that present products that are produced from GOTS-certified textiles.
GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard and focuses on ecology, sustainability, and social responsibility. As a consumer, you can thus be sure that all our cotton textiles are produced correctly throughout the value chain - from the cotton farmer's fields to the finished product.
As part of the GOTS-certification, there is a strong focus on the conditions for the employees in the factories, and the GOTS-certification guarantees, among other things, safe and hygienic workplaces, no child labor, minimum wage, limited working hours, no discrimination, and the right to freely choose employment.
In addition to being GOTS-certified and focusing on sustainable products, we are proud to have a friendly relationship with our suppliers in a collaboration based on trust and mutual respect. For us, it must be rewarding and interesting to produce Filibabba products, whether it is in Turkey, India, or any other country. We therefore have a great passion for everything in the factories living up to various ISO standards, which ensure proper conditions for those who produce the products.
For us, packaging is more than just cardboard produced in large quantities and then eliminated. We are in favor of recycling, and for our interior balloons we have chosen a cardboard box of good quality, which can subsequently be recycled and used, for example for storage in the children's room. Recycling is good use.
We believe in a sustainable mindset when we develop our products in natural materials for the sake of our children and our environment, and we take responsibility for every design we develop.
FAQ about GOTS
The fact that we are a GOTS-certified company means that we are approved to be able to use the GOTS brand on selected products that meet the requirements for being GOTS-certified. GOTS is an organization and a brand that ensures good working conditions and products free of harmful chemicals as well as environmentally friendly production. The GOTS brand also ensures that all links in the value chain are approved, from the farmer who makes the cotton, to the manufacturer and to us as a brand.
The choice is made on the basis that we want to promote good working conditions, sustainable and organic materials and products. We want to protect the environment and the people we work with, and we want to be able to offer the consumer baby and children's products that are GOTS-certified.
It requires a correct and strict administration, sustainable and ecological values in the company as well as good and safe working conditions and products free of harmful chemicals. In order to maintain our GOTS-certification, we must be re-certified and approved annually.
This means that the product consists of at least 70% GOTS-certified organic cotton and is prepared and produced by a value chain, where all links are GOTS-certified. Every single production will here be administered and approved by GOTS partners. This is right from the cotton itself, from the cotton manufacturer, on to the manufacturer who processes the cotton and shapes it into our fabric, and from here on to the textile factory that designs and sews the products and finally on to us as a brand.
No. We produce all our cotton fabrics in 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton, but you can only categorize an entire product as being GOTS-certified when a minimum of 70% of the product consists of our GOTS-certified fabric, such as our bedding. If it is instead a changing pad where there is a pad inside, which makes up most of the product, you cannot categorize this as a GOTS-certified product, even though the fabric is still 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton.
The GOTS-certification guarantees among other things safe and hygienic workplaces, no child labor, minimum wage, limited working hours, no discrimination, and the right to freely choose employment.
